DP World Tour reaches Abu Dhabi for first of Playoffs

Adam Scott – one of only two Australasians in Abu Dhabi field

The DP World Tour’s two playoff events to end the 2026 season begin on Thursday in Abu Dhabi with the Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship at the Yas Links Golf Club, where the leading 70 available players from this year’s Race to Dubai will chase the purse of US$9 million.

New Zealander Daniel Hillier (currently 7th) and Australian Adam Scott (pictured below) are the only two golfers from our region in a field which includes Race to Dubai leaders, Eugenio Chacarra, Rory McIlroy and Patrick Reed and all but two of the leading ten in the current Race to Dubai ranking.

Only Ryan Fox (6th) and Matthew Fitzpatrick (10th) are missing from the field, although Fox will tee it up next week in the season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.
