There is nothing like the Masters to get the golfing juices flowing whether you are a keen golfer or just a sports fan in general.

Like the Melbourne Cup in Australia it is one of those events in which everyone is keen to try their hand in picking a winner and like the Melbourne Cup there are many, many chances although trying to assess those more realistic chances is what I attempt in this rundown from a betting angle.

The two great story-lines of the event in my opinion, aside from the betting outcome, come from Rory McIlroy’s attempt to complete a career Grand Slam and whether Tiger Woods can get his quest to chase down Jack Nicklaus as the winner of the most majors in the game back on track.

Woods has won this event on four previous occasions and already has 14 major titles to his name and his great record at Augusta National even when not winning and impressive recent performances suggest a win is not the remote possibility if might have been considered twelve months ago.
